2026 5th International Conference on Image, Signal Processing and Pattern Recognition (ISPP 2026)

From April 10 to 12, 2026, the 2026 5th International Conference on Image, Signal Processing and Pattern Recognition (ISPP 2026) was successfully held in Guilin, China. The conference was hosted by Guilin University of Electronic Technology (GUET), organized by the School of Artificial Intelligence, GUET, and supported by the University of Macau and the School of Artificial Intelligence, Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications. It was guided by the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Special Committee of the Chinese Society of Educational Development Strategy, and the Big Data Systems and Simulation Special Committee of the Chinese Association for Simulation.

The conference brought together many experts and scholars from both domestic and international arenas. Through keynote speeches, oral presentations, poster sessions, and awards, participants engaged in in-depth exchanges, creating a vibrant academic atmosphere with frequent intellectual collisions and enthusiastic responses. The conference selected 4 Best Paper Awards, 4 Best Poster Awards, and 3 Best Oral Presentation Awards. Attendees discussed the latest trends, research achievements, technological innovations, and application cases in the fields of image processing, signal processing, and pattern recognition, not only sharing cutting-edge developments but also laying a solid foundation for future interdisciplinary collaboration.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Dean Chen Guangxi of the School of Artificial Intelligence, Guilin University of Electronic Technology (GUET). Vice President Liu Jianming of GUET delivered the opening address, extending a warm welcome to the attending leaders, guests, experts, and scholars. Vice President Liu noted that the university would take this conference as an opportunity to start from a higher vantage point, vigorously promote the deep integration of industry, academia, and research, and further deepen school-enterprise cooperation, continuously contributing to innovation and development in the fields of image, signal processing, and pattern recognition.

The morning keynote session was moderated by Associate Professor Ren Jie and Professor Lan Rushi, both from Guilin University of Electronic Technology (GUET). The conference invited four senior experts to deliver keynote speeches. Four leading scholars—Professor Chen Changwen from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Professor Yu Junzhi from Peking University, Professor Xia Shuyin from Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, and Professor Yu Zhiwen from South China University of Technology—presented their keynote reports in succession, offering in-depth sharing on cutting-edge topics including "Video Internet of Things: Technical Challenges and Emerging Applications," "Motion Perception and Control Based on Underwater Fisheye Vision," "Granular Ball Computing: A New Efficient, Robust, and Explainable Artificial Intelligence Theory," and "Theory and Applications of Imbalanced Learning." The reports of the experts combined theoretical depth with forward-looking vision, progressing layer by layer from industrial implementation to fundamental theoretical innovation, presenting a high-level academic feast for the attendees.

The oral presentation session was held in the afternoon and was moderated by Associate Professor Wang Wenhao from Guilin University of Electronic Technology (GUET). During the oral presentation session, a number of young scholars from universities and research institutions such as GUET, Chongqing University, Guangxi Normal University, Guangdong Vocational and Technical University of Business and Technology, Guangxi University of Science and Technology, and the Navigation Support Center of China Waterborne Transport Research Institute presented their latest research achievements on topics including image processing, signal analysis, and pattern recognition. The live Q&A session featured an active atmosphere, with constant emergence of new ideas and inspirations from academic exchanges, fully demonstrating the research vitality and innovation potential of the young scholars.

This conference attracted wide attention from scholars. The organizing committee of the host institution, taking into account paper quality, poster quality, and on-site presentation performance, selected 4 best papers, 4 outstanding posters, and 3 outstanding on-site oral reports.
